In Türkiye, the Ministry of Health (MoH) is responsible for administering the health system and setting health policies to protect and improve public health, reduce and prevent disease risks, and deliver diagnostic, curative and rehabilitative health services. Within this remit, the Ministry also aims to ensure the availability, accessibility and affordability of reliable and quality medicines and other regulated health products.

The Ministry carries out these responsibilities through its central units and affiliated institutions; it provides guidance, monitoring and evaluation, conducts audits, and can impose sanctions where required.
